- In Krasic, Croatia, dies on January 10th, 1960, martyr of the Faith, Blessed Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, Archbishop of Zagreb. He was proclamed Blessed by Pope John Paul II October 3th, 1998 at the Marian Santuary of Marija Bistrica
- In Buenos Aires was founded the Association of Croatian Catholic Students – Drustvo Hrvatskih Katolickih Sveučilištaraca i Srednjoškolaca – DHKSS The Association was founded by father Bonifacije Perovic, OFM in 1960.
- In Buenos Aires appeared the first issue of the journal Studia Croatica. During these 50 years the journal published a total of 11000 pages on papel, plus abundant material on Internet. We just re-published the complete collection as electronic books (ebooks).
- In Nueva York appeared the first issue of the Journal of Croatian Studies, published by the Croatian Academy of America.
